Alberto Candlesticks
Alberto Candlesticks
Crafted in Los Angeles, each piece is individually thrown, pulled, shaped and trimmed by hand on the potter’s wheel by a single master potter.
Each candlestick starts its journey as roughly one pound of mixed, recycled dark clays. They go through two firing processes. First, bisque firing removes moisture from the raw clay and hardens their forms. They are then hand dipped in Matte Black, a luxuriously thick, dark glaze that is both mysterious and modern. The pieces are finished in the kiln, glaze-fired for at least 12 hours at around 2400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Each item is utterly unique, its final form determined only by Tad’s mood or inspiration in the moment while at the wheel. No two are exactly the same. Quirks on these seductively tactile pieces are to be embraced and only enhance their individuality and charm.
