To achieve the depth of the glaze, Kalin fires this piece twice. The result is a layered glaze that evokes the quiet majesty of a glacier. Primarily a soft, translucent white, it carries a barely-there wash of pale blue that seems to surface through the texture like ice beneath snow. The finish is smooth yet subtly varied, catching light in a way that reveals its depth, cool, ethereal, and quietly luminous.

Each lamp is built by hand in Kalin Asenov's studio in Savannah, Georgia, using slab construction, formed with the hands and simple tools rather than a potter's wheel. Every piece is unique, so expect slight differences in size, a gentle undulation in the clay and variation in the intensity of the glaze.
