Capturing the beguiling atmosphere of London in light and motion.

London is a city of fleeting moments and impressions, transient sights and sounds, flowing movement between fixed monuments; a spectacle of light and reflection. Haberdashery were inspired to animate the wonder of their London home through an arresting sculptural centrepiece of light in motion.

Slender glass tubes house living light sources finished with polished gold or nickel plated end caps, providing a luxurious sheen and amplifying the effect of the light. Alternative end caps are available in anodized black to absorb extraneous throw and further draw the eye to the source. Each light features generative animations in a calming expression of urban flow; cascading drops of light in effortless pulse and sweep. Individual tubes are available in three standard sizes suspended via minimal ceiling plates with braided cabling to complement the choice of finish.

Arranged into compositions, each facet contributes to the overall impact: independently alive within a composite whole. The effect evolves as the viewer moves around the sculpture, intensifying the sense of serendipitous flow through carefully designed formations. The sculpture is available in a variety of sizes and two overarching forms. Cascade compositions heighten the sense of linear flow; a waterfall of animated light. The Helix compositions generate further intricate patterns through geometric arrangements of individual tubes. Both are designed to evoke the multifarious effects of the endless light of the city.

Variations in size, form and numbers of tubes provide options that will suit most spaces. If required, further personalisation is available through Haberdashery’s custom design service, ensuring the sculpture perfectly suits the space and achieves maximum engagement.

Using technology developed exclusively by Haberdashery, the final installation can be simply toggled between a static, dimmable light, and the animated rain-like effect with each tube displaying a unique, randomly generated flow of light.

The clusters of glass tubes are suspended from slimline ceiling plates and connected using minimal end caps in gold/silver plate or matt black.

There are 4 standard compositions available or Haberdashery’s in house design team can be commissioned to create custom compositions incorporating a combination of the 3 standard tube sizes to suit the project's requirements.

Lead times vary depending on available capacity at time of order & size of order but generally 16 - 22 weeks.
