Rosetti Vase 3
Crafted in Los Angeles, each piece is individually thrown, pulled, shaped and trimmed by hand
on the potter’s wheel by a single master potter.
The smallest pieces start their journey as one
and a half pound lumps of wet clay up to four and a half pounds for the larger bowls. They go
through two firing processes. First, bisque firing removes moisture from the raw clay and
hardens their forms. They are then hand dipped, sometimes twice, in Cornwall Stone, a thick,
creamy glaze that is somehow both rustic and elegant at the same time. The pieces are finished
in the kiln, glaze-fired for at least 12 hours at around 2400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Each item is utterly unique, its final form determined only by Tad’s mood, inspiration or
fortuitous mistakes in the moment while at the wheel. Imperfections on these seductively
tactile pieces are to be embraced and only enhance their individuality and charm.
