Salvador Candlesticks in Cornwall Stone
Salvador Candlesticks in Cornwall Stone
Crafted in Los Angeles, each piece is individually thrown, pulled, shaped and trimmed by hand on the potter’s wheel by a single master potter.
Each candlestick starts its journey as roughly one pound of Stoney White clay. They go through two firing processes. First, bisque firing removes moisture from the raw clay and hardens their forms. They are then hand dipped in Cornwall Stone, a thick, creamy glaze that is somehow both rustic and elegant at the same time. The pieces are finished in the kiln, glaze-fired for at least 12 hours at around 2400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Each item is utterly unique, its final form determined only by Tad’s mood or inspiration in the moment while at the wheel. No two are exactly the same. Quirks on these seductively tactile pieces are to be embraced and only enhance their individuality and charm.
